i usually don't play demos before the full game is out or at least we know the release date but... absolutely amazing. i'm fully heartedly waiting for the full release. absolutely love your art and writing..
the way it started confusing but as time went on, and i kept playing and the pieces started to merge and make sense. absolutely love this and eager to see what this will end up being!
even tho it came out few years ago i still carry hope that this will continue some day, absolutely love your every work and the way you can tell how much effort you put into things.
overall just absolutely gorgeous demo.
Thank you so much! It's really an honour to know that you gave it a try anyway and loved what you saw! I do hope to continue working on Kit one day (when a lengthy, multi-route VN is more feasible for me haha ^^;)
Seeing the demo i fully ynderstand that this is a huge project! Best of luck with everything!
So my feelings going through this can be best explained as such: Started off confused and wondering how we got here, only to be thoroughly intrigued and mesmerized, with a burning need to know more.
I was amazed how the writing kept me on my toes and in the dark, yet still managed to draw me in. The art (as expected when checking out your previous works) is beautiful and don't even start me on the music! It's always what sticks with me the most in your projects.
If I had to leave two minor nitpicks, it'd be that 1) the UI (save/load, etc) is really hard to find/see when there isn't a text box around, which was a bit uncomfortable for me and 2) I was kind of taken off guard when I first saw the charactere sprites cut off at the waist a bit awkardly when displayed in the middle of the screen (which I think is due to it being a demo, but either way, not that I mind too much).
Like I said though, very minor nitpicks under a lot of enjoyable intriguing content I'm looking forward to!
I'm glad you enjoyed the story! Kit was my first visual novel attempt so there's definitely some wonkiness and not-so-great design choices haha, but I'm glad you enjoyed it despite them!
This is just a masterpiece! I'm mesmerized by every single work of yours.
Thank you so much for playing them!
wow, this vn has left me close to speechless. i can't even begin to describe how it's made me feel so far, it's just beautiful.
the music, the pacing, the story, characters and the art. the art!!! it's all done so beautifully, and it all feels perfect together.
i can't wait for the full vn to be released. thank you so much for creating such a wonderful work of art!
I am so happy you enjoyed Kit, thank you for playing it!!
have tell you I teared up when kit talked about hugging kris it broke my heart and hit me so hard. I have little sister not a twin but, I feel like I couldnt do anything for her growing up despite me being the older sister so something like this I really really resonate with. she hasn't passed away I just, understand kit on this oddly deep level. what I do love is that Kris always loved him no no matter what.
Okay, I knew I would love this just based on It Paints Me, but I finally had some time this evening
while procrastinating on stuffto sit down and check it out. I meant to "just start it", and that was at 10pm, and it is now ummm 12:40am. Suffice it to say I could not put this down. The music is wonderful - it's slow paced and ambient but the melodies are still captivating. The tone-setting is ON POINT. Moreover, I am the biggest sucker in the entire universe for diegetic music so I went nuts over this. The scene where Kit played the piano waltz I was absolutely just losing it. Incredible stuff.
The narrative pacing is masterful, honestly. You introduce this skeleton in a chest and of course I as a reader am spending the whole time going "GO FREE THE SKELETON!!!!!" which makes this really powerful tension whenever Kit is, you know, dealing with his own shit; because on one hand I am captivated by his own story but on the other *points to skeleton* GO INVESTIGATE THAT. THAT'S A SKELETON. COME ON BRO. But the pacing is very stubborn because Kit is stubborn, it is slow because he is exhausted and hurt and processing and dying, and it just really forces the reader to experience a taste of the hell he is going through.
The visuals are wonderful, the TEXTURES can't really be described by any word better than "delicious." I want to eat this game. I mean that in the best possible way.
So many of the narrative ideas, symbols, and concepts being touched on here are things that deeply resonate with me in ways that are really hard to express. Like playing a game I really like is one thing, playing a game I really like that I have a very specific and personal connection with is something else entirely. This already feels like the latter.
I am so beyond excited for more whenever it is ready. In the meantime I'm going to be annoying at everyone I know and tell them to play this right now immediately.
Oh gosh, first of all-thank you so much for playing! I'm glad that all the parts meshed together and that the pacing didn't drag. It's a little crazy (but I'm extremely grateful) to be told that you finished it in one sitting! From early on, the music was meant to have a role in the story itself, so I'm really glad that scene had that impact!
It means a lot to hear that the story resonated with you, I hope you'll enjoy the future chapters once I'm able to work on this again!
The music in this game is truly exceptional, and contributes so much to the atmosphere of the game. Thank you so much for the Phonograph so I can spend more time with it.
I'm really happy you enjoyed it! Thank you for playing as well!
What updates I notice I really liked them, I can see the game has A LOT of replayability and I am all in for it, each character has a lot of depth, the new CG art is really something that I would hang in my walls, I found myself enjoying it as much as I did the piano tracks.
I'll refrain myself from commenting on the story too much as I don't want to spoil it but man it is so good, Kit is such a great character. and the skeleton it's too. actually I like all of the characters, even cousin is not too bad.
Now if you excuse me, I will go back to my chest until it is time for me to be back on this wine cellar.
Keep up the good work!
The choice "A girl in a garden of blooming roses" is unlockable correct? I assume it isnt just not available but that I havent picked the right choices in any of the playthroughs I've done?
That's right! That choice becomes unlocked only if you choose to stay on the balcony during an earlier scene.
Lovely game, cannot wait to find out where the story goes!
Thanks so much for giving it a play!
I fell in love with the atmosphere of this game. Everything is perfect : the art, the music, down to the story. It felt the same as reading Poe's stories for the first time. I can only recommend it to everyone who reads my comment, and will be looking forward to the full release.
This is one of the best comments I could receive, thank you! I'm really happy you enjoyed the demo!
Everything about this is beautiful, and the art is a masterpiece. I love it!
Thank you so much! <3
What an amazing Demo this is! I was left speechless at the end, and even tough I made a video I rather anyone that is reading this play the game first, or instead, it is truly a joyful experience of exasperation and dread.
Everything in this demo is amazing, the music, the art (THE ART), the characters, the setting and most important fro a visual novel, the pacing of the story!
The horror is subtle but always prevalent, no cheap jumpscares or loud sounds await you, just the infinite impermanence of your own mortality and the guilt of choices not made.
I could say more but I rather not rob you for the time you could be using for playing this game!
Keep the good work dev!
Hey there, thank you so, so much for playing and leaving a review! I'm glad you had a good time with the demo. Feedback like this really helps keep me going!
I'm glad that the horror elements showed through for you without being too much or too cheap; I can't exactly be sure what's spooky to an audience when *I* know what's coming up, haha.
What a great demo! Lovely writing and art, and the whole air of misery and imminent death was just delightful. 💕 I'll be looking forward to the full release. ^^
Thank you so much for trying out the demo! <3
Just played it and filled out the feedback form - awesome start, I'm looking forwards to seeing what comes up next!
Thank you for checking it out, and the insightful feedback! I really appreciate it <3
I am SO ABSORBED, great work!!
Thank you Asri!!
